Afghanistan Blog #10
I have a magnificent year here at University High school. It was great to break away from my old friends, and make new ones. The school has given me so much more freedom than my old school. My favorite part of the school is the level of trust that the teachers have of their students, and the level of maturity that the teachers expect and show the students. My favorite class this year was my Language and Literature class that was taught by Mr. Priest, this was the only English class that I have ever been in, that I actually enjoyed. He always kept the students involved in the class and always did something that everyone would like, from book discussions, to make joking about people, and even the occasional “spirited debate”. I also had a great time with meeting new people. It is always good to meet new people, and that’s what I did. I came to this school knowing absolutely nobody but I quickly joined a group of people who are now some of my best friends. This school is the perfect breeding ground for friendships; it is small and will always run into that person, whether you want to or not. It seems to me that this school was the perfect fit for me, and I couldn’t have made a better choice.
