Of micce and men Question 10

Question #10

I feel that the many new technologies that we have today has made or world a much easier place to live in. Our telephones and internet allow us to talk to friends from school, gather information and even host conferences halfway around the world, at the click of a button. Our microwave ovens can cook lunch, dinner, and popcorn in seconds and or cars can get us from point-a to point-b at a moments notice. TOdays live is not only so much easier than in the thirties but back then it was so much harder. THey had to drift from one job to another searching for any way to get money and feed themselves and their families while still holding on to the little dignity that they had. That time was arguably one of the hardest times in the short history of the United States. For the people that had jobs and made enough to own homes they lived modest lifestyles for the most part. MAny people would either starve on the streets or live off feeble rations from the soup kitchens. Today our government provides for many of our needs including backing our bank deposits and we have severance wages so if you get fired from your job you will still be payed for a little while, which makes life easier or at least seem that way. All of these things and more show that life in the thirties was much harder than it is today
